Jaipur's Jantar Mantar is one of five sites built throughout India during the 18th century to observe the universe. This observatory was built in the early 18th century, but it took until 2010 before it was recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization ( UNESCO) as a World Heritage Site. ![]() Many people travelling to Jaipur may be familiar with the likes of the Palace of the Winds and Nahargarh Fort, but fewer know about Jantar Mantar.
